Rock to Rebuild Raleigh Benefit Cancelled
We received this note from the promoters this morning (TUE 21JUN2011)
“Friday, at 9pm…Eschelon Hospitality received an email from Kane Reality that it would require a $5000 deposit to run this event after it had been approved. Evidently, the Renaissance Hotel in the center has been losing guests due to noise from the Thursday Beach Music Series. We were going to draw heavily from this Thurs. event. I apologize about the last minute, but Guarev Patel, owner of Mura, The Oxford, Sono, and Cameron Villiage Draft House met with Kane Reality in a last effort to be “grandfathered” in for this event. Kane declined and is asking for $5000 just to run this event. Writing Kane Reality a check for 5 grand just to raise money for someone else makes NO sense. After meeting with Eschelon yesterday, there is still a want for this event. Eschelon is in the process of looking to partner with another venue.”
We hope you didn’t cancel your European vacation so that you could attend this show….

A Very Brief Update
Hey Folks…
West Trinity is working on recording some of the many new tunes (and a few of our back catalog) we’ve written.
…we miss seeing you at the shows, and we’ll be back focusing on live performance as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience.
Vaya con Dios Gary Moore
Gary Moore passed Sunday at the age of 58.
Gary was a great inspiration to me (Kenray)…he made some drastic changes in his career – from the brawler rock of Thin Lizzy to the nuke-apocalypse metal of the 80s to the fantastic blues work that he really got into in the 90s and continued until his death. The only person I know of who made such drastic swings, and succeeded at it is Bowie.
In everything he did, Gary Moore had a deft touch. He was one of those great guitarists who is very aware the rest of his band was doing, and what it means to be a “part” of a song, whilst still providing the “lead” to the music and the “leadership” to his band – a rarity.
He also wore his scars proudly, walking around like a great unconcerned giant in an industry full of small people so very concerned with image.
Rock on Gary. We’ll miss you.
Here’s an AWESOME version of the classic “Shapes of Things” from 1984.
